19 Sep 2026 ~ New Brunswicks 5th annual Highway of Heroes Ride a Powerful gathering pledging to Never Forget ! 

I was humbled to address the mass of riders, Veterans and their supporters alongside Silver Cross Mother Donna Beek who's son Tpr Corey Hayes fell in Afghanistan's combat, as New Brunswicks Lt Governor Louise Imbeault MLA Mary Wilson and the hard working organizers of UN NATO NB looked on proudly at a Great Success!!

I was 'transported' back to August 12, 2012 as the incredible band 'The Trews' sang their soul touching song 'Highway of Heroes' to a rapt audience, as the official Province of New Brunswicks Highway signage was unveiled by Premier David Allward and combat veteran MLA Brian MacDonald in front of Don and Laurie Greenslade who's son David was killed in action April 8 2007 when 6 soldiers where taken by an IED. This ceremony just minutes before we took that heart pounding first ride down Nb's own Highway of Heroes !!

Thanks to Kent Carswell, Tony Lynch and the late great Earle Eastman with a key push made through the red tape by Brian MacDonald 14 years ago, with todays Proud organizers and attendees of this years 5th Annual Highway of Heroes Ride who each pledge to NEVER FORGET the sacrifices and service of those willing to be placed in harms way for others!!!

CAV Museum Display St Stephen, NB

In St Stephen, New Brunswick, the Royal Canadian Legion St Croix Branch #9 has a National CAV display through photos and artifacts the history of our CAV Riding Family. Mounted on the wall are our CAV organizations Founding National flags that co-founder/National President Trapper Cane carried throughout our first years. These National flags crossed Canada 19 times covering 1.8 million kilometres from coast to coast in 22 years while attending over 1800 community/veteran-based events from May of 2003. Trapper carried these flags to 150 Repatriations of our Afghan missions’ fallen, 75 times at 8 Wing Trenton, and 75 times at the Toronto coroner’s office.  The CAV Family never missed a repat ceremony, attending all 158.  These CAV flags where also proudly carried in Afghanistan's combat by RSM Ernest 'Buddha' Hall. Every reaction force to 'TIC' troops in contact, IED blast or the many ramp ceremony's during his tour as the RCR Regimental Sergeant Major and our CAV National Vice President. The CAV National flag carries 83 'Battle Honours' chosen by the individual Units across Canada as they stood up representing service and sacrifices in their home community's.  Also are displayed the evolution of CAV Cresting from the very first order of a dozen, to the 1^st ,2^nd 3^rd CAV Formations and those identifying 'Army, Navy & Air Force' service alongside National and Silver Cross Family, French and Honourary members cresting. The center piece is a 1985 FLH Evolution HD that was originally owned and ridden hard by 'Stoker' Damman, a WW2 Canadian Navy veteran who's son John Dammam and his wife Kat, both long time CAV Riders and Executives, who after his death had it painted with a world class custom 'Navy tribute' to his father, this bike then ridden hard at many CAV events by the 2nd generation of this WW2 veteran. Bearing his dad’s 1942 image on the right tank, and Mr. Damman in his 90's on the left tank. The last ship he sailed on is depicted on the front fairing with Remembrance Poppy's and gold pinstriping everywhere else as a loving tribute.

This museum proudly details our National Riding family’s historic and ongoing mission of 'Ride and Have Fun While Helping Others' using CAV 'Strength and Honour' as our Motto!!'
