Orland “Commander” DeLong, a retired 28-year CAF Field Artillery Officer, joined the CAV in 2009 joining the 3rd CAV Frezenberg Unit. Commander successfully fulfilled the duties of both Unit President & Vice President of 3rd CAV Frezenberg Unit before moving to the CAV National Board of Directors. Commander subsequently moved to fulfil the duties of the 3rd CAV Formation Vice President and then the 3 rd CAV Formation President. After successfully fulfilling these 3rd Formation duties for full terms, Commander then was appointed the CAV National Vice President. Upon successfully fulfilling the term as the CAV National Vice President, Commander was appointed to his current position of CAV National President. Commander received both the Old Guard Award and the CAV National President’s Strength & Honour Award.
