Battle Of The Atlantic Unit
Battle of the Atlantic (BOA) is located in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, known as Canada's Ocean Playground and land of the red beaches. We love to ride and explore our picturesque provinces from the Cape Breton Highlands to the Digby shores, from Summerside to Charlottetown and everything in between..
We are a group of Veterans and Veteran Supporters that love to ride and help others as we discover our scenic back yard. Some of the events we participate in are: Motorcycle Rallies; Formation rides; weekly rides; weekend trips; and fund raise for local charities and check up on our local veterans. |
Battle of the Atlantic Battle Honour
The Battle of the Atlantic, from 1939 to 1945, was the longest continuous battle of the Second World War. Canada played a key role in the Allied struggle for control of the North Atlantic, as German submarines worked furiously to cripple the convoys shipping crucial supplies to Europe. Victory was costly: more than 70,000 Allied seamen, merchant mariners and airmen lost their lives, including approximately 4,400 from Canada and Newfoundland. Many civilians also lost their lives, including 136 passengers of the ferry SS Caribou.
