If you are interested in becoming a member, or have questions about CAV membership, please complete the form below to contact the 3 CAV Membership Coordinator Trina Murray, also known as Den Mother. Please ensure to identify where you are located or if there is a specific unit you are inquiring about.
Den Mother will happily answer any questions you may have but it is also recommended that you also read through our Constitution and brochure as these documents will explain in more detail our objectives and mission. Once you have sent your request to become a member, Den Mother will contact the unit nearest your location and forward your contact information to that unit's Executive. They will contact you, conduct an interview, answer any further questions you may have, and provide you the application form.
As the CAV is comprised of both Veterans and Supporters, if you are applying as a Veteran, you will be required to provide proof of service whether you are currently serving or retired. Also, if you are a rider (Veteran or Supporter), you will be required to provide a copy of your driver's license and all members are required to provide a photo with their application.
The prerequisite for Veterans Status as defined by the CAV constitution (Pg4) is as follows:
A veteran is defined in accordance with the NATO and Canadian standard and includes any Regular or Reservist who has completed their MOC (trades) training, a fully trained Canadian Ranger or a Serving or retired Member of the RCMP. Allied Partner or NATO Veterans meeting the same criteria respecting prior military service residing in Canada also hold Veteran status. Note: This does not include the Cadet Corps or CIL staff unless they have seen service as a Regular or Reservist.
